500pxs move is pretty smart because it instantly does one thing it goes straight after Flickrs userbase, while maintaining the image it has had all along of being a photo sharing site thats a cut above the rest.

The premium upgrade will get users a custom domain, unlimited uploads, exclusive portfolio designs, google analytics and more. Most of the premium features are similar to Flickrs with some added exceptions including the custom domain and the ability to customize your portfolio.

As the site continues to add more features, including native portfolios on iOS and Android and a gorgeous iPad app, it is becoming the more obvious choice for photographers who want to showcase their work bea! utifully .

Do you think the move is enough to get more Flickr users to jump ship? Let us know in the comments.
