To tempt more users to its new Music Store, Google has begun a Cyber Monday promotion that sees albums from some of the worlds most popular musicians reduced to $1.99 for today only.

Cyber Monday, the first Monday after Thanksgiving (and Black Friday) is typically used by retailers to tempt consumers online to part with the cash that they didnt spend bargain hunting in bricks-and-mortar stores on theprecedingFriday. Googles promotion sees albums from Pink Floyd, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga,Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Drake all priced at $1.99:

Unfortunately, music fans outside of the U.S are unable to enjoy the significant discounts on albums on Googles Music Store.

The store launched onAndroid devices and the Web at the These Go to Eleven event in Los Angeles on November 16, after the company sawan immense amount of interest in the beta version of the service, with 1 million testerslisteningto 2.5 hours of music a day.

Googles Music partners include EMI, Universal, Sony Music Entertainment, as well as a bunch of smaller indie labels to total over 1,000 partners. This ensures that over 13 million tracks will be available on the Android Market, 8 million of ! which ar e live today.

The mobile app, which is available for any device from Android 2.2 and up, will allow you to stream your collection as well as pin music to the device, which will let you listen to it offline.Users can also share their purchases via Google+, allowing their friends to listen to some of the tracks before deciding whether they wish to buy them.

Googles Cyber Monday deals will last for 24 hours only. Again, its only available to users in the U.S.
