Lenovo Preparing a Honeycomb ThinkPad Tablet [RUMOR]
Lenovo is going to release an Android 3 (Honeycomb) tablet with a keyboard dock this summer, according to a document published by the blog This Is My Next, which claims the document has leaked from Lenovo.
The presentation is quite detailed, describing a Honeycomb-based tablet with a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 IPS capacitive multitouch screen (plus an optional stylus), an Nvidia Tegra 2 CPU and up to 64GB of storage. The tablet will also have two cameras (front and rear), a SD memory card reader, a USB 2.0 port and a mini-HDMI port.
This sounds very much like every other Android! 3 table t on the market, but Lenovos upcoming tablet has one interesting distinction: a keyboard dock that turns the tablet into a full-fledged laptop computer. The tablet will likely be released in July for $499.
While the leaked presentation does seem convincing, some of the details dont add up. For example, some slides are dated 2009, when many of the items mentioned in the presentation (Honeycomb itself, for example) werent around.
Still, it wouldnt surprise us if Lenovo used its ThinkPad brand to delve into tablet territory, so well call this rumor a believable one. Check out some of the slides below and the entire presentation here.
