The New York Times partners with YouTube to commemorate 9/11
Its hard to believe that 9/11 was nearly 10 years ago and to remember that horrific dayThe New York Times and YouTube are partnering and asking people to upload their videos to aspecial channel. Users will be asked to upload videos of themselves answering simple questions like what is your one memory from the day.YouTube says:
Through telling and sharing stories, we can all hope to make sense of an event that, for many of us, was one of the defining moments of our lives. Thank you for sharing yours.
Its an interesting concept because while YouTube didnt exist when 9/11 happened, this is a good way of bringing it into the minds of a new generation and never forgetting the people who died that day. There will be blanket media coverage of the anniversary over the next couple of weeks but it is smart from the New York Times to try and stand out from the crowd and have users create some unique content that will be remembered forever.
